Corporate Social Responsibility
We've started to discuss Corporate Social Responsibility in class. We've talked about the "formal" definitions now I'd like to get your thoughts on what CSR to you. What should a company do? Not do? What types of activities should businesses be involved in? Are there activities which businesses should not be involved in?

Companys should be very professional and do what ever they could to please the coustmer. A company should not hold scams for there coustmers to short them out of money. The product a company makes should be made perfect. A company should not treat their employees bad, a company should not cause complactiopns with other companys and a company should not try and scam the government. Business should be involved in the ideas of costumers and the sourndings around them. Business should be involved with not only their company but with schools, homeless shelters, places where people are in the need of help. Good ethics is a great way to give a business a great name. What business should not be involved in is scamming, counterfing products, money laundreying.
whether or not companies care about the environment, community, and stuff like that, they still will try to be environmentally friendly and give to charities because its a good investment. If you give a million dollars to charity, spend another million dollars letting everyone know that you give to charity, then more people will buy your product and you'll end up making your money back, and then some. helping out is simply an investment, usually a good one.
I believe that a company should be run just like a household in a way. You should encourage your employees to strive and give 110% but not at some other persons cost. Even if at first you don't make millions, eventually people and even your investors will be aware that the company is 100% legit and in time the people will make it more popular. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising, and the more people talk the more popular and pricier the stock value becomes.
I think companies should invest in their employees(to create a good team together), this should lead into a good company that produces quality. Companies should be held accountable if creating or exporting any unsafe or unhealthy products to the public. They should contribute to the community, from schools, to clean and safe neighborhoods, etc.
Companies should not be involved in any business that degrades humans for the company's benefit/profit.

For me, CSR is when the company cares a lot about the quality of the product or service that it provides. If the company aspires to be one of the best on the market, it should communicate its core values and principles. The company should always be honest with its customers and remember that consumers have right to be informed, heard, and right to choose. Also, the company should take care about its employees by benefiting them and paying salaries in time. Of course, sexual harassment and unsafe working conditions are inadmissible. However, employees shouldn’t forget about issues of integrity and honesty while working. Finally, the company will be better recognized and successful if it cares about earth pollution and volunteering
I am strongly against society expecting big businesses to feel obligated to serve their communities. Whats the matter with our government? Are they too concerned about worthless B.S. issues like baseball players using steroids? Gimme a break. Our government seems to be trying to sway the responsibility towards the corparate world. Businesses have enough to worry about just to make their ends meet. No CSR necessary!
I believe companies should be very professional and respectful towards their consumers, as well as their employees. Companies should be very aware of honesty towards their customers, which will allow customers to be happy with their service and products. Therefore, this will allow customers to return and further their business with a company. Consumers want to feel comfortable and respected while doing business with a company. If a company doesn't show any professional or respectful manner towards a consumer, it will cause complications during a business transaction, or better yet risk loosing the chance of doing business completely. In addtion, if a company shows respect towards their own employees it will improve the employees profesional manner. Due to the respect they're obtaining from their employer, they will feel the need to show a more professional manner towards consumers as well. Employees will further the companies professional and resptful morale towards the company and consumers. Moreover, a companies "Corporate Social Responsibilty," in my opinion is all based on the movement of professionalism and respect throughout the company all the way towards their consumers.
I think companies should be responsible and provide a quality product or service while being legal, respectful, and ethical. They should treat their employees and customers fairly, let the public know of any safety concerns with the product, and abide by the laws. But we shouldn’t expect companies to fix all the world’s problems out of their own pocket. If a company is cutting into their profits to fund these activities, they could be harming the business and the owners and shareholders, which is irresponsible.
With all the information that is available, people today are becoming more aware of what companies are doing or in some cases what they are not doing. While I think there are companies that are actually trying to improve the world, most companies just see CSR as another form of marketing and use it to improve their public image and cover up their flaws.
I think companies should care about their customers as well as their employees. They should make sure to protect the employees who give their all to keep the company in motion. They should make sure to reach out to the community through various charities. Companies should not be corrupt and embezzle funds, as well as be dishonest with employees/customers. Businesses should be involved in honest transactions and various charities. They should not cheat the public, steal, counterfeit or scam those within the company and the public
I think companies should do what costumers want yet do it in a way that is good for the company. I thik it is a great idea for companies to be involved in some charity events, it gets the name of the business out in the open.
Companies should be providing goods or services of high quality to consumers with the goal of making a profit. Any other activities they should choose to take part in are at their discretion. I support free enterprise for the most part, so whatever a company can do (within the laws) to make profit is what they should be doing. I do believe, however, that companies should be held responsible for their impact on the environment.
